An exodus that puts tens of thousands of people onto a two-lane highway to Reno over a small number of hours.

Getting around Reno that week
Reno is the airport for Lake Tahoe: North Lake is about forty-five minutes and South Lake about an hour, over passes that require winter tyres and often chains between November and April. SUVs are the default for those runs and the schedule assumes chain controls.
Local note. Tahoe transfers in winter are quoted with chain-control time included. A car without winter tyres will be turned back at the control point, not waved through.
If the city is sold out, the nearest alternatives are within driving range: North Lake Tahoe (about 45 minutes), South Lake Tahoe (about 1 hour), Sacramento (about 2 hours). We run those legs as fixed-fare city-to-city transfers.
