HIMSS Global Health Conference Transportation

Why this week is different

Health information technology's largest annual gathering, with a host city that rotates.

Venue. Rotates between Las Vegas, Orlando and Chicago.

Booking advice. Confirm the host city for the year before booking anything — HIMSS moves, and assumptions about the venue are the most common error.

What we provide during HIMSS Global Health Conference

• Airport meets on the peak arrival and departure days, with a greeter desk for larger programmes
• Executive sedans and SUVs for individual and small-group movement
• Sprinters that keep a delegation together between the venue, the hotel and the customer dinner
• Published-interval shuttle loops between hotel blocks and the venue, reinforced at the two peaks
• Hospitality staging for suites, offsites and after-parties with a curfew that is actually held
• Setup and teardown runs outside normal service hours for exhibitor crews
• Consolidated billing per programme, per exhibitor or per department

Getting around Las Vegas that week

Las Vegas has more convention space than any other American city and a ground transportation market that is entirely driven by the show calendar. During CES, SEMA, ConExpo, MJBizCon and the largest medical congresses the valley runs out of compliant vehicles, and operators bring cars in from Phoenix, Los Angeles and Salt Lake City to cover the shortfall. In the weeks between, the same city is the easiest market in the country.

Local note. The Formula 1 weekend closes Las Vegas Boulevard and several cross-streets for the better part of a week. Hotel access changes daily and the pickup point must be agreed with the desk, not assumed.

If the city is sold out, the nearest alternatives are within driving range: Los Angeles (about 4 hours), Grand Canyon West (about 2.5 hours), Zion National Park (about 2.5 hours). We run those legs as fixed-fare city-to-city transfers.
