Getting around San Francisco that week
San Francisco is small and the Bay Area is not. The work here is as much about the Peninsula and the South Bay as about the city: an investor day that starts in the Financial District and ends in Menlo Park, a founder moving between Sand Hill Road and SoMa, a delegation visiting three campuses in Mountain View, Cupertino and Santa Clara before a dinner in the city.
Local note. Healthcare conference week in January is the tightest ground transportation week in the country. Vehicles are committed by the previous autumn and rates reflect it — book in September for January.
If the city is sold out, the nearest alternatives are within driving range: Napa (about 1.5 hours), Sonoma and Healdsburg (1.5 to 2 hours), Monterey and Carmel (about 2 hours). We run those legs as fixed-fare city-to-city transfers.
