Train Station Transfers — Richmond Staples Mill Road Station

Meeting a train at Richmond Staples Mill Road Station

In Henrico County, about fifteen minutes from downtown Richmond.

Worth knowing. Staples Mill is not the downtown Main Street Station. Both serve Richmond and they are twenty minutes apart.

Rail schedules slip. We track the service by number, hold thirty minutes of complimentary wait from the actual arrival, and — at the larger stations — meet you on the concourse with a name board rather than leaving you to find a car in a pickup lane you have never used.

Why the train is often the better leg

On the Northeast Corridor and the Florida Brightline route, rail frequently beats flying door to door once security and taxi queues are counted. The weak link is the last mile at each end, and replacing that with a chauffeured car — booked at a fixed fare, tracked to the arrival — is the whole point of this service.

Onward in Richmond

Richmond's work is state government, finance and healthcare, with an airport fifteen minutes from downtown. Washington is about two hours north and Charlottesville and the Virginia wine country about an hour west, which makes Richmond a practical base for a two-day itinerary covering both.
